Seriously, I could not be happier if I wanted to.
I just witnessed the living legend and holder of 13 Grand Slam titles Roger Federer at the Rod Laver Arena. In addition, before that, Ana Ivanovic, last year’s finalist, and Novak Djokovic, the defending champion, also sailed through the second round of matches at the Australian Open. Gosh, watching tennis live is utterly sublime.
This is my sister Wei Li and I in front of Rod Laver Arena, the center court at Melbourne Park.
This is the magnificent stadium which is Rod Laver Arena during the Djokovic-Chardy match.
This is my sister Yen Li and I with the crowd at Rod Laver Arena.
I cannot explain how exhilarating it is to watch tennis live, and we were lucky that our seats were fantastic as some unfortunate fans had to sit through the entire day session in the hot Melbourne sun. I am so lucky to be able to watch three great players on court, and I have achieved one of my dreams of being at a Grand Slam tournament.
PS: The icing on the cake was when we attended Absinthe, a New York circus slash burlesque performance which was funny, exciting, awesome, and utterly bewildering. A perfect day!
PPS: Day Three was mainly shopping and a guided tour around Melbourne City, will update that post when I have photos from my sister’s camera.
