I cannot even begin to comprehend that Leonard is going for the Reading Festival in the UK in about a month’s time. A little background, every year since 20 years ago, BBC Radio 1 (my favourite British radio station, mind you) has been hosting this three-day musical extravaganza at Reading and Leeds.
When he first told me, I was like, “As long as The Kooks are not part of the line-up, then I won’t have to kill you (Leonard).” I woke up ten minutes ago thinking, “Wait a freaking minute, I know more British indie bands than that!”
Then I checked the website. I nearly screamed bloody murder.
The Kooks won’t be there.
Vampire Weekend will be.
To add insult to injury, the electro-pop genius of MGMT will also be strutting their stuff on stage.
And guess what, so will the likes of some of my favourite bands The Mystery Jets, The Ting Tings and One Night Only.
Actually, all I need is Stage One; I have totally no need for the Main Stage with only The Killers striking my musical chord.
Stage One has a vast array of dark horses who can really rock the house down, notably Santogold, The Wombats, The Last Shadow Puppets, Justice, The Cajun Dance Party, and Adam Green of Moldy Peaches fame as well as the aforementioned bands.
Seriously, can life be anymore unfair?
Yeah it can, Los Campesinos! will be performing at the Festival Stage as well.
Damn the poor Malaysian ringgit in comparison to the Pound Sterling to hell.
In other less grumbling news, Cecilia (or CC) has made it to the Grand Finals for SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE MALAYSIA, so guys, please send VOTE2 to 33399.
The lines are OPEN till the finale next Friday @ 8:30 p.m. I know 8TV and the telco are bringing in big bucks for the votes throughout the week, but support CC. Each SMS vote will be charged at RM0.30. Every vote counts, so let’s make CC the winner! Thanks guys!
See you guys at Ruums, KL next Friday to see if CC does indeed get crowned as the best Malaysia has to offer on the dance floor. I am keeping my hands crossed and phone SMSing.

I live in the country yet I dunno where little ol’ Reading sits on the map of England and I am completely oblivious to most of the bands you mentioned
I’ve heard of the Ting Tings, “they call me hell, they call me stacey..that’s not my name”
er seriously?
awful lyrics..

Yo Jeff Winter (don’t use a fake name because that name belongs to a very talented British soccer journalist, and if it is your name, I think it is a misfortune), anyway, happy? I left your second comment undeleted. Proudest moment of your life? Enjoy your stay at The Good, The Bad, and The Plain Old Lazy.
